Show a recipe card with the Recipe card block
Recipe articles get a clean card: prep/cook/total times, yield, ingredients, and numbered instructions — the visible half of the article's Recipe structured data.
When you set an article's type to Recipe and fill in its ingredients and instructions in Settings → Content & FAQs, the same data publishes twice: Recipe structured data for search engines and AI agents, and a clean recipe card the Recipe card app block renders on the article — times, yield, the ingredients list, and numbered instructions.
Add the block
- In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.
- Use the template picker to open your blog post (article) template.
- Click Add block, and choose Recipe card under Apps.
- Set the heading if you want one, and Save.
- The card renders only on Recipe-typed articles with ingredients or instructions filled in — everywhere else it stays silent.
- Times display from the same ISO durations the structured data uses, formatted for humans (PT1H30M shows as 1 hr 30 min).
Tip · The Recipe card block is part of paid plans. On the free plan the block stays silent — it never shows an upgrade message to your shoppers.
