Show your FAQs to shoppers with the accordion block

The FAQ library publishes Q&A as structured data AND as a visible accordion on your product pages — here's how the block works.

When you assign FAQs to a product in Settings → FAQ library, two things publish: FAQPage structured data for search engines and AI agents, and a content metafield that the FAQ accordion app block can render visibly on the product page.

Nothing visible is ever injected into your theme automatically. The accordion is an app block: it appears only where you place it in the theme editor, inherits your theme's fonts and colors, and can be removed the same way you added it.

Both halves matter. Structured data describing content shoppers can't see is the kind of mismatch search engines penalize — so the block isn't decoration, it's what keeps your markup honest. It's also useful on its own: answers on the page mean fewer pre-purchase support messages.

Add the block to your product template

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your live theme.
  2. Use the page selector at the top to open a Product template.
  3. In the left sidebar, click Add block inside the product information section (or any section that accepts app blocks).
  4. Under Apps, choose FAQ accordion (AgentReady).
  5. Position it where you want — below the description is typical — and Save.

How it behaves

  • It renders each assigned Q&A as a tap-to-expand row, styled to inherit your theme's fonts.
  • Products with no assigned FAQs render nothing at all — no empty heading, no blank box — so you can add the block to the template once and let assignments control where it appears.
  • Changes in the FAQ library reach the storefront on the product's next sync, which the library triggers automatically when you save.
  • The optional heading is editable per block in the theme editor.
Tip · The block arrived in app version 18. If you don't see it under Apps in the theme editor, the app needs updating — reinstalling is never required.
